Two new films from the pupils at Kibworth Primary School.

After the success of the Cine Hubs films made in the summer of 2009, Paul Stone the headteacher of Kibworth Primary School invited Large Scale back to the school to work with students and teachers.

We have supported two Y5 classes and yet again the creativity and dedication of pupils and staff had paid off with two excellent films. La Dent Tremblante, or the Wobbly Tooth tells the story of a boy who needs £2 to buy a games console. He decides the best strategy is to pull out a tooth and hope the Tooth Fairy provides the missing cash. The film is made entirely in French, and is a surreal tour de force.

What would you do if you ran out of milk and you lived on a space station on Mars? This is the dilemma facing two hapless Space Agents in our second film. We turned half the class room into a set reminiscent of Red Dwarf, with pipes, panelling and bulkhead lights giving it a real space station feel.

Thanks to Paul Stone the headteacher for inviting us back, and thanks to James & Sheila the Classroom teachers , who put in the extra effort to bring the films to screen.

A screening of both films is scheduled at Phoenix Square in July.

Cine Hubs is administered by EM Media, and supported by the Film Council, BFI, 20th Century Literacy and the Leicestershire Gifted and Talented scheme.
