Large Scale's collaboration with the Emerald Centre and Phoenix Square, 'From The Shannon To The Soar', screened to a packed house, last night in Screen 1, at Phoenix Square.

The half hour documentary investigates the journeys of 7 people born both in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland, who now reside in Leicester. All of the interviewees were present to see their debut on the big screen.

The film crew, pupils of Irish heritage from St Paul's Catholic School and English Martyrs Catholic School, were also present.

There was plenty of laughter and a few tears as the film screened to an enthusiastic crowd, many of whom had made similar journeys in the 50's & 60's.

Later, in the cafe there was plenty of opportunity to catch up with old friends and reminisce, as an Irish band played into the night.
