At the beginning of term, the staff of Eastfield School and Gaddesby School took part in a training session to learn the basics of filmmaking.

The staff developed their film ideas quickly, with some emerging fully formed.  A sense of competition pushed the learning in each project forward. Skills in camera technique and the editing were honed to ensure that the rival films were as good as can be.  The creative race for success did not mean that there was no room for fun, as the comedic nature of the films made evident.

The one and half days concluded with Oscars being awarded to the budding Spielbergs for all their hard work.

These newly acquired talents will be put to use in September when pupils will be able to judge whether teachers know if head room is used in framing a shot, or where Bill drinks his coffee.
