One of Our Harpies Is Missing from Kids for Kids UK on Vimeo.

The whole of class 5H spent 7 days with Large Scale last autumn devising, filming, acting and crewing a short film. The end result was One of Our Harpies Is Missing, a mythic tale of monsters, gods and madness in the magical village of Kibworth.

Large Scale entered the film into the Kids For Kids film festival held at the British Film Institute (BFI) at the Southbank centre in London. It won the award for Best Live Action Film as voted for by the International Jury.

Three 5H pupils attended the award ceremony and collected the award on behalf of their class.

Thanks to pupils and all staff at Kibworth Primary School, who put in a lot of time and effort to make the films as successful as they are.

Large Scale have been working in partnership with Kibworth Primary School, and its associated hub schools for over 5 years, providing training for teachers, technological know how and production support for pupils. We have held 4 end of year celebration screening days at the Phoenix Cinema, showing pupil’s films on the big screen.

All Large Scale’s work is part of the curriculum working with teachers to use digital technology to engage pupils in learning and creating.

“Steve has been a tremendous asset in the development of our children’s skills and creativity”

Gilly Patterson – Deputy Headteacher at Kibworth Primary School.
